| Charity Tariff
In order to address the economic impact when we try to compete against another country that is allowing their labor to work for less than our minimum wage; we may well be wise to apply a Tariff on their items we import. We can then have it returned to the people making the products in a process that helps them cultivate their resources and lives to similar standards as our own. Charity groups, the Peace Corp, etc, would likely stand up to the plate in helping things get done. When we don't, we are likely insuring that we will fall to their level of existence in the long run, in some fashion or other.
When the charity groups can find a way that is acceptable to the people and the government over them, as well as our basic standards; then the funds can flow into the program to help those that basically earned it to start with.
- The biggest problem that is apparently effecting the middle east and western Asia, is the drug cropping and trafficking that is so financially lucrative. The ideal solution would be to get the demand stopped. There are efforts being made to make a vaccine against drug abuse that is showing some signs of effectiveness for those wishing to stop. Short of that being viable, at least the 'Charity Tariff' process will help keep 'disposable income' from being more available to those that have no qualms in leading others down paths of self destruction. Just so you note the fact: China and India are both physically very near the opium poppy fields of Afghanistan.
Is this a solution for the trade balance problem?
